Life Is Contagious -

The Project Of Exuberance and Infectious Love of Life

An Homage to Exuberance and Lust for Life

Shrill strong colours, women who are actually men (or perhaps more accurate men who are actually women?), icons who become vivid and dazzling personalities, eccentric characters between glamour and theatric portraits. It is all centered around self expression, joie de vivre, masking and the search (or already addiction to) for irresistibility, beauty and eroticism.  The need for more colour in life, simplicity and more paradise.

Much, much more paradise!

In a style reminiscent of David LaChapelle and Nan Goldin, the art collective Arte Puna Alegría tells stories - more authentic than LaChapelle, happier than Goldin. The collective takes pictures of friends orchestrated in a mixture/cross-fertilization of production and naturalistic/true-to-life situations. A rush for the senses, a feast of visual impressions that capture vibrant, excessive, hot-blooded adventures and always loaded with humor.  Un-designed and without condemnation these extravagant portraits of self expression come to existence.

“Life is chaos. This is what we should enjoy.” John Lydon, singer of the band Sex Pistols. Chaos, which can be partly interpreted as creative but also as poison, can be fun by absorbing but also lead into emptiness in the end. Dedicated to pleasure and to enjoyment, hedonistic and hopefully exaggerated, many portraits, though lovingly documented´, implicate certain ruthlessness.

"For me, it´s all about arousing the perception of acceptance and encouragement within the observer to express joy. An attitude towards life of lightheartedness and ecstasy. Like music, pictures can activate energies which one experiences, giving you an opportunity to wander through new environments in a higher spirited mood, feeling more serene, happier, more content, playful and more joyously. Your body feels warm and you can get people to perceive more easily their magnificence and power as a present and not to hide them. When an image functions as it should, it simultaneously asks the question: `Which experience, which pictures of freedom, which of our own memories does this invoke to bring me to a higher level of happiness?´” so Arte Puna Alegría.

The intention of this art project is create a stage to celebrate

living life to the fullest - with humor and LOVE=ALOHA

When we share ALOHA, we express our LOVE and integrity to others, we evoke a feeling of light energy. We give ourselves permission to surround ourselves with bliss. When we allow ourselves and others to feel good, free, flexible and jaunty, we embody a state of childlike exaltation, wonder and ecstasy. Tasting the pure deliciousness of existence in this new way, exponentially broadens our scope of enjoyment of this colorful vibrant playground of life.

"Don´t go where you are tolerated – go where you are celebrated."

"Everything that is not love or doesn’t derive from love is not true."
